Risk Pricing Manager

As part of a fast-evolving, technology-led insurer, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving smarter, sharper pricing decisions that directly impact performance and competitiveness, across SME commercial lines, including but not limited to; Property, Employers Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Property Owners and Landlord.

We are looking for a Risk Pricing Manager from a commercial or personal lines general insurance background, to lead on the pricing analytics, managing a small team, whilst representing pricing to collaborate across functions such as underwriting and actuarial to ensure aligned strategy and drive profitable growth.

This role requires two days a week in-office (Central London).

Responsibilities

• Designing and enhancing pricing models (statistical and machine learning) to accurately assess risk and optimise performance
• Analysing internal and external data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Continuously monitoring portfolio performance and making timely pricing adjustments
• Partnering with underwriting, actuarial, and product teams to deliver aligned strategies
• Leveraging tools such as Python, R, SQL, and pricing platforms (e.g. Earnix, Radar, Emblem)
• Keeping ahead of market developments and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues, helping to build a high-performing pricing function

Requirements

• Expert in insurance pricing from a General Insurance (GI) background
• A background in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science)
• Advanced technical capability in Python, R or SQL, and familiarity with pricing tools
• A strategic mindset with the ability to solve complex commercial challenges
• Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical insights into business impact
• A collaborative leader who enjoys developing others and influencing across teams
• Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
