Lead Technical Pricing Analyst

The focus is on building predictive models, both statistical and machine learning, for perils, risk and claims cost, for a range of SME focused Commercial Lines products.

Responsibilities

• Building and enhancing advanced pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques
• Developing innovative pricing strategies that balance risk, customer value, and commercial performance
• Interpreting large, complex datasets to generate actionable insights
• Acting as a technical expert, supporting stakeholders across underwriting, product, and actuarial teams
• Monitoring and optimising pricing performance, making real-time adjustments where needed
• Ensuring models and approaches remain compliant, robust, and forward-looking
• Staying on top of industry trends and regulatory developments
• Providing technical coaching and mentorship, elevating capability across the team

Requirements

• Significant experience in general insurance pricing 
• Strong technical capability in Python, R or SQL
• Hands-on experience with pricing platforms (e.g. Earnix, Radar, Emblem)
• A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science)
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to translate analysis into commercial outcomes
• Strong communication skills — able to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences
• A collaborative approach with a passion for technical excellence and continuous improvement
