Case Study: One Insurer client – Two years of recruitment

6 February , 2026

Imagine you are recruiting for an experienced insurance pricing analytics or data science professional. Now imagine you are able to successfully fill those roles the majority of the time, having only had to review on average five incredibly well suited CV’s, and meet an average of four candidates, per role.

All at pace, and whilst achieving a 90% acceptance rate on offers of employment extended to successful candidates.

Sounds like a dream, right? But it is possible.

The numbers in the carousel are an honest, ‘no-filter’ assessment of a recent two year period for which Alexander Williams Recruitment has assisted a circa £1Bn leading personal lines insurer with their Pricing & Data Science recruitment.

This is for positions including Pricing Contractors, Pricing Managers, Principal and Senior Pricing Analysts, Lead Data Scientist and Data Scientists.

Highlights include a 1.3:1 CV to Interview ratio, and 3:1 Interview to Placement ratio, on average over two years, demonstrating the suitability and quality of candidates delivered.

The Interview to Offer ratio would be even more impressive – one detail left out is that of the 8 successful placements, only 9 offers were extended. We can’t of course take all the credit for this, this is due to the culture and environment the pricing and data science leadership teams have fostered, and the processes they have employed for recruitment, meaning candidates typically get to the end of the process highly enthused about the prospect of working there. And the way they have worked with us, allowing us to give genuine insight to potential candidates about working there, has been hugely beneficial in enabling us to get the initial interest from potential candidates, as well as keeping them engaged throughout the process.

If you are recruiting in insurance pricing or data science, and would like to see results like these, with less work required from both hiring managers and your talent acquisition teams – please do not hesitate to get in touch, and we can show you how.
